WHAT IS RELAXICON?

 

Relaxicon is an annual convention, hosted by The Wilmark Dynasty and held on a floating weekend in the Spring.  Running Friday night through Sunday afternoon, the weekend is filled with short gaming events from 1-8 hours in length, including:
 

  • Mini-LARPS 2-4 or 6-8 hours in length

  • Table-top RPG Games

  • Board and Card Gaming & Tournaments

  • Special Events & Games like our annual talent/gong show affectionately called “Amateur Night at the Styx” on Saturday night or our Singalong that follows it!
     

Join us to participate in one game, run a gaming event, or attend the whole weekend! You can just come, be social, and relax too!  (It is Relax-icon after all.)

What is different this year?

 

Relaxicon is moving to a New Location in 2019.  We will be located in West Chester, PA at the Quality Inn & Suites Conference Center.  We hope this will be our new home for all Wilmark Dynasty events - so let's all be on our best behavior so we get invited back!

We have a theme!  Our 2019 theme has been chosen:  
 

Things that go Bump in the Night!

 

Games do not by an means have to include this theme.  But games and events are encouraged to incorporate the theme to their own interpretation.  Players and attendees should feel free to add a little flair to your everyday dress as well as your costumes, and maybe even the playspaces and hotel rooms. 

Themes are new - let's have fun with it!

We will be doing a group hotel room booking, rather than each of you booking individually.  This helped us negotiate a better overall rate, and means no more headaches for you with phones not being answered, links not working, and the hotel being unable to find our group.  

​

There will be a bar on site.  Please review our Policy Regarding Alcohol.  All alcohol consumed in the Meeting Space and surrounding areas MUST BE PURCHASED FROM THE BAR.  The operating bar hours will be posted.  All attendees to Relaxicon must register and agree to our policy.

There is no food accessible by walking.  For all meals, you will have to drive 5 minutes or more, or call for delivery.  We will have information onsite, but recommend GrubHub (or similar) for this purpose.  There is coffee and tea free in the lobby, water stations at the Meeting Space, and vending machines are located near the Hotel Rooms.  The convention will also provide some snacks and drinks throughout the weekend.   In the future there may be a restaurant and/or catering available onsite.

There will be both an Opening Registration Table and Welcome Ceremony on Friday evening, and a Closing Ceremony on Sunday afternoon.  We hope you will attend both of these for announcements and news, and to meet new attendees!  The Opening will include, among other announcements, an Orientation to the new hotel and rules, the Closing will include Shameless Plugs.

There will be name badges!  Please wear them.  They're great.  They help you introduce yourself to new people (or remember that person's name you've known for years but can never recall).  They'll identify who is onsite for the convention (not just staying in the same hotel) and maybe even tell you a little something about them.  

​

The price has gone up.  Ugh - we know.  Sadly, we can no longer offer the amazing rates of yesteryear.  Cost was a major factor involved in choosing our new hotel, and we are trying to keep the cost as low as possible for everyone.  2019 will be a transition year, and after a year at the new budgets, there may be further adjustments necessary (or happily!) next year.  Any (unintentional) extra monies collected will go into future budgets.
