DOUGLAS HENSLOWE

FRIEND & COMPANION of Mr Winston in his occult interests.  Mrs W-R found several letters she believed went unanswered, following the incident in 1924.  According to these letters, Mr Henslowe was also traumatized by “the incident” and also sought professional help.  Mr Henslowe sent several requests to Mr Winston to record what he had seen, to confirm Mr Henslowe’s own reports to his doctor(s).  Mr Henslowe claims in one letter to have recorded himself a complete recounting of “the incident” and hidden it away, and offered the location up to Mr W-R were he to make a request.  The letters are addressed from Savannah, Georgia.  The letters have continued to come since Mr Winston’s death, indicating Mr Henslowe’s ignorance of these circumstances.

      Update: upon meeting Mr Henslowe at the Joy Grove Sanitarium, where he is currently interred, I can describe him as being a bit older and somewhat out of shape (and in need of a good haircut), but clean shaven and with good posture.  He greatly resembles the penitent man of his letters. 

 

EDGAR JOB

A patient at Joy Grove Sanitarium, kept quite separately from Douglas Henslowe.  Edgar Job was a member of Echavarria’s People (the cult which Walter Winston, Henslowe, and others were tracking and confronted).  After “the incident”, Edgar Job travelled from Los Angeles specifically to confront Douglas Henslowe, a fight incurred involving a knife, and both men were arrested and interred at the Joy Grove Sanitarium.  They share a very similar story about “the incident” and a creature which was summoned by the cult.  Mr Job is a rough figure, a smoker (prefers Lucky Strikes), and claims to have spent much of 1923 – August 1924 high on various drugs.  Resultingly, his story would normally be treated as mostly delusional, but for its similarity in detail to that of Mr Henslowe. 

    UPDATE: When Mr Job's billing came into question, there was a good chance he would be transferred back to a California state penitentiary, and subsequently executed.  Mr Job's billing is now being attended by Mrs W-R as a temporary arrangement.  Dr Teak has agreed to keep him at Joy Grove and there he remains.  

 

MRS HENSLOWE

Douglas Henslowe’s mother.  I have seen her through an upper-story window, but we have not met or communicated.

 

JOHN CURROTHERS

Mrs Henslowe’s employee who manages the property.  The property is quite rundown, so one wonders precisely what is his job description.  Mr Currothers prevented us from communicating with Mrs Henslowe but did let us wander the estate after producing a letter from Douglas Henslowe giving us his permission.

 

DANIEL LOMAN

Funded the most recent stay of the tattooed, Thai terrorists at The Gastonian. 
Pays by wire from Bangkok. 

    According to a clerk at The Gastonian hotel: The group has been seen in Savannah from time to time over the past couple of years.  When they stay it is generally for 3-6 weeks at a time, and their most recent stay was funded by a Daniel Loman.

    According to a clerk at the Savannah Airport: … the group (or some group which looks similar, possibly some of the same and some different each time) are monthly visitors, using five very artificial Caucasian pseudonyms. (most recent tickets paid for by Daniel Loman).

 

DR KEATON  DECEASED

Douglas Henslowe and Edgar Job’s current main doctor of treatment.  The doctor did allow us to interview the patients, and gave us a bit of their history, but was most protective of his patients and how much they could discuss.  This is most likely a purely professional

      UPDATE:  Dr Keaton was keeping Edgar Job under fraudulent circumstances; he altered the bills to say they were being paid for by the Henslowe Estate.  (Whether they were actually being paid by the Henslowe Estate remains a mystery, as Mrs Henslowe herself knew nothing of the matter.)

       FURTHER UPDATE: Dr Keaton is now deceased.  We believe he was murdered, but in any case he was killed by a White Hermit spider, native to Asia.  The bite cannot usually penetrate human flesh, but we located the spider within the mouth of the deceased.  He died shortly after being dismissed from Joy Grove.
