# of Players:   16-20 players.
(Characters are 6 Male, 5 Female, 9 interchangeable; there is 1 character that works for a younger player – the youngest I’ve had is about 11 years old) and most are fine for anybody 16+)  

Game Duration:  4 hours

This game *may* run from 3pm – 7pm (this goes 30 minutes into the 1.5 hour Dinner Break). 

What else should players know:

No terribly dark themes, no experience required, costumes encouraged, rules light and everything is taught there, GM sanctioned mayhem.

Once upon a time…

 

The Princess Amethyst has recently returned to the court of Norland after a mysterious six-month disappearance and her parents are overjoyed.  In her wake a slew of royal guests have arrived as well – and two of them are seeking Amethyst’s hand in marriage.  Now King Stephen and his queen must figure out what to do with their headstrong daughter and her two insistent suitors.

​

But even in the kingdom of the famed Sleeping Beauty, who slept for one hundred years and awoke to her happy ending several generations ago, happily ever afters are not easy to come by.  And with one suitor a powerful, but entirely unexpected, king and the other a fop of a prince who has arrived with his domineering mother in tow, it’s not going to be easy to sort out this mess. 

​

As if that wasn’t bad enough, the political ramifications of Amethyst’s marriage are piquing the interest of others who may be affected and even one of Amethyst’s sisters and her husband have been sent to make sure their kingdom’s interests are heard in the matter.

​

Are happily ever afters even to be found amongst political dealings, rumors and plots or did they disappear when the fairies did?

 

“The Princess of Norland” is a fairy-tale themed, theater-style, mechanics-light LARP.  There will be politics, negotiations, plots, manipulations, secrets of varying sizes and shapes (even a secret identity or two), unrequited love, family struggles, rules being broken and possibly some fairy tale magic!

​

ABOUT THE SYSTEM:

​

Under my Skin is a game about passion, fidelity and definitions of love.  A group of friends get together and secret loves and passions erupt.  Partners and lovers have to face up to their fears and jealousies as they find that time has taken its toll on their relationships.  People learn about themselves and what love really means.  Dynamic live action scene framing based on Nordic jeepform.  Note that the game will require a work-shopping session prior to play.  This is built into the time needed.  Note also that previous sessions of the game have often been quite intense.  A debrief and de-rolling session will occur at the end.

Costuming as a junior high student is encouraged, but not required.  Era (1970s, 80s, 90s, etc) will be discussed with players in advance of the game via email.

The junior high session could dance around any number of topics, as the plot is brought to it by the players.

ABOUT THE GAME:

​

Life in junior high school is *important*.  Every moment is critical.  Every feeling is as real and deep as it possibly can be.  Your love lives – those beautiful moments stolen between classes, in lunch rooms, and every (gasp!) after school – where you might hold hands or even – make out – with your paramour define every fiber of your existence.  The highs are stratospheric.  The lows, chthonian.  There is nothing in between.  And now you will all be tested, as new flames enter your lives…

Edge of the Imperium

Players Should Bring: just bring dice.

 

You are part of the crew of the 1,000-ton Free Trader the Edmond Fitzgerald.  The ship is a partially-paid-off 12-year-old Type Q ship with Maneuver 3 and Jump 3 which is needed out here in the outer rim of known space.  There is a large 10-parsec gap of empty space until the start of the next cluster of star systems.  With a crew of 12 it has been your home for a few years. 

​

Then the Imperium invaded the Star Island Cluster and some of your contracts for trade disappeared.  The economy has been disrupted, but it doesn’t matter; these Imperials have Technology that is too high to even fight.  As new citizens of the Imperium you needed work or the ship would be repossessed by the bank.

​

Therefore, the new Naval base being built on the 7th moon of System Sally (778) planet #8 needed an early warning system.  It will be a 3-jump trip to the edger system Ythmo (815) where you will install an early warning system at the edge of what is now Imperial territory. 

​

The pay is good at 2X rate and there were a lot of other captains looking at this contract, but without both the cargo capacity and quick Jump this contract could not be completed in only 4 weeks.   You will therefore have only 3 days to deploy this system before returning.  Wow, 4 months’ pay in only 2 months. 

​

You will of course have to take the computer classes to learn how to deploy this tech.  It is a Tech level 15 system and you are only trained up to Tech level 11.  Therefore this system is about 500 years in advance of your experience, “Who, me Worry?”. 

​

And even better you are armed and can defend yourself.  As a Free Trader working for the Imperial Naval you get to keep your weapon systems and even use them to defend yourself.  As one of the biggest Free Traders in this sector of the Star Island Cluster you are as safe as can be expected.  What could go wrong?

LEGACY OF EMBERS

System:  Table-Top RPG  Playtest

 

LoE is back again this year.

​

LEGACY OF EMBERS is intended to be an optimistic take on a post apocalyptic table-top RPG of light/moderate complexity.  The game is intended to focus on the following elements:

​

EXPLORATION – In the remains of the blasted Earth the huddled human holdouts frequently do not know what lies even just beyond the horizon.  For these holdouts a handful of adventurous souls are the only connection they have with the greater world around them, and sometimes the only source for crucial supplies and information.

SURVIVAL – The world is dying, and the bones of civilization can only support the scattered remains of humanity for so long.  Only by being proactive can the remaining humans scrape out enough to survive for one more day.

CONFLICT – From scavenger bands to rival holdouts to the alien forces that have begun to appear around the world danger is ever present.  Not every foe can be fought and not every foe can be reasoned with.  Choosing how to react to threats will be crucial for keeping those under your care alive.

DIPLOMACY – Not all who come from the stars are evil.  Some of the aliens are happy to make contact and help.  Some will view humans as chattel or even vermin.  One wants to kill you and wear your corpse as a suit. Humanity needs friends if they are to survive.

COOPERATION – Alone we stand no chance in the new wilderness.  Together we can survive and rebuild.  We can show the universe that we are worth saving, that we deserve to survive.
