Here are a few ways we are featuring - but feel free to run your own some other way.
Some of these options do involve spending a little money - but think of all the money you saved on hotel nights, eating out, and even the con fee. Hopefully, there's an option here for everyone.

Once you've agreed on a game, you can use the voice channels we've provided on Discord to have a chat while you play. We're happy to create one just for your group, each time you create a game - just use the # request-a-channel chat to request a voice channel, and we'll get you one in a jiffy.

Whether or not you play board games during RELAXICON 2020 GOES VIRTUAL! we would love to grow this community as an outlet for all of us.

You play online, no downloads necessary. It's free to play and they have lots of games. However, we recommend you support them by going Premium. It costs $5/month or $24 for the year, and means you're guaranteed to get logged in to play. Because of covid, the site is experiencing an overload of players, so sometimes they are just too full. You will want to do this before RCon begins, so you're all ready to go when the games kick off.

Steam sells lots of board games which you can play online with other people, such as Ticket to Ride, Mysterium, Carcassone. All players will need their own copy of the game to play. Once you're friends with someone on Steam, however, you can see what games you already own in common.

Some games require you to have an account with Asmodee online to play together. Which leads us into our next option:

Many of Asmodee's great board games have been re-created as Apps for phones, tablets, and computers.
You'll need an account and the app to play. These are relatively cheap and download quickly, and could be a great option for you to play during the weekend. We recommend Splendor!

All the other games can be run with or without the Family Friendly Filter with the exception of Trivia Murder Party which is NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY. So grab your coffee or tea and come wake up your brain with some fun and frivolous games. Games run an average of 15-20 minutes. Come and go as you please.

You are part of the crew of the 1,000-ton Free trader the Edmond Fitzgerald. The ship is a partially paid off 12-year-old Type Q ship with Maneuver 3 and Jump 3 which is needed out here in the outer rim of known space. There is a large 10 parsec gap of empty space until the start of the next cluster of star systems.
With a crew of 12 it has been your home for a few years. Then the Imperium invaded the Star Island Cluster and some of your contracts for trade disappeared. The economy has been disrupted, but it doesn’t matter these Imperials have Technology that is too high to even fight. As new citizens of the Imperium you needed work or the ship would be repossessed by the bank.
Therefore, the new Naval base being built on the 7th moon of System Sally (778) planet # 8 needed an early warning system. It will be a 3 jump trip to the edger system Ythmo (815) where you will install an early warning system at the edge of what is now Imperial territory.
The pay is good at 2X rate and there were a lot of others captains looking at this contract, but without both the cargo capacity and quick Jump this contract could not be completed in only 4 weeks. You will therefore have only 3 days to deploy this system before returning. Wow, 4 months’ pay in only 2 months. You will of course have to take the computer classes to learn how to deploy this tech. It is an Tech level 15 system and you are only trained up to Tech level 11. Therefore this system is about 500 years in advance of your experience, “Who me Worry”.
And even better you are armed and can defend yourself. As a Free Trader working for the Imperial Naval you get to keep your weapon systems and even use them to defend yourself.
As one of the biggest Free Traders in this sector of the Star Island Cluster you are as safe as can be expected, what could go wrong?

The Follicle Debacle is a short prewritten mystery.
Players are dogs at a dog show where something has gone quite awry.
The event is light hearted and silly.
No LARP experience is necessary.
A willingness to attach sock to your head as some sort of makeshift dog costume is a plus but is certainly not needed.
