CASTING INFORMATION

 

Love Letter  is written for 10-12 players. 

 

On Gender, Sexuality, and Relationships:

The characters have been written as male and female, but may be played by players of any gender.  The romance is mostly heterosexual; however there is one female-female potential relationship which has been written to be optionally playable.   There is a question on the Casting Form about interest in exploring same-gender relationships, and we will make an effort to pair players together who might be interested in adding this to their gameplay.

All characters in Love Letter games (at least to date) are written with more than one potential romantic relationship (many characters have a past, present, and potential option).  Most characters also have non-romantic relationships upon which they can base their play, which - in some cases - can be equally powerful relationships to explore.  While we know there is never enough time in any LARP to play upon every relationship to its full potential, and it is easy to get swept up in a particular relationship, we ask that players make a mindful effort to address every relationship to some degree, so other players don't miss out.

All the characters in the game know each other, some better than others.  Your relationships in this game are pre-written, and while you are welcome to explore friendships, rivalries, or even romance with any other characters in-game, we would prefer you did not pre-game/calibrate/write additional relationships ahead of game as exists in some other forms of LARP.  While we agree the creative options are enticing, the in-game time is limited.
