• In Love Letter you will be writing and reading during the course of the game. Please talk to us if you have any concerns about this process.  Additionally, the characters are all considered to be literate and educated, proficient in reading and writing. 

• For purposes of this game, only Phillippe the Frenchman actually speaks French, even 'though the historians in us know better.  All characters in this game write and converse in English.

• More on historical accuracy - to protect our modern decencies, the ages of the characters have been raised (from what could expected to range from 10-16 up to ages 18-20, but age is largely unimportant other than that all characters are roughly of the same young, marriageable age.)

• There is some genre-related sexism in the game.  How much you do or do not engage with it is mostly up to you.  Only the squires will go off to war, and the ladies will remain home - this is how the game is written and will proceed, without option.  The rest - particularly in regards to aspects of formal marriages and courtly love - is entirely optional.  These restraints are offered as both a potential source of drama as well as potential ways to get around the sexist system.  Please see the page on Romance and Courtly Love for more details.
