Send your video submission to AmateurNightStyx@gmail.com

All acts for this version of the Styx MUST be recorded and emailed in advance, so our text can sort them out for steaming ahead of time.

So, send those (short) acts in - singing, poetry, tik tok, dub sync, drama, comedy, bottle-cap tossing, marble racing - whatever it is, show us your talent!!

(keep it to rated R or less, please)

Additionally - the hosts would LOVE to have a short clip of your red-carpet arrival.
Show us what you're wearing, and make an entrance!

You can also send these videos to amateurnightstyx@gmail.com

Submission Deadlines!!

Styx Acts:  August 30th

Red Carpet & Amazing Grace:  Sept 1st

Amateur Night at the Styx wants YOU! Get decked out in your favorite costume, cosplay, or garb and walk an imaginary runway. Send your video to AmateurNightStyx@gmail.com and we’ll edit the videos into a FASHION SHOW!

Can you walk a fiercer runway than me? I know you have better costumes than the sorry get-up I’m wearing. Show me up!

There's one more way you can participate!

Join us for Amazing Grace!!

We asked people what they missed from our getting together, and we've heard "singing with other people!" a lot. Delays in any platform make singing "live" interesting, at best, so we're going to try something a little different that will at least let us all sing together through the magic of technology.

You will need:

  • A computer/tablet/smart phone

  • A second device that has audio recording capabilities (a smart phone works just fine)

  • Headphones (this is very, VERY, important)

Instructions:

1. Go to: https://michaelkravchuk.com/satb-separate-voice-parts-amazing-grace/
2. Plug in your headphones into the device you are using to listen to the music (NOT the recording device)
3. Play the voice part you want to sing along to.
4. Record yourself singing along to the track (audio only). It is very important we only hear your voice, alone, on the recording.
5. Send the recording to vivianstans@gmail.com and cptscience@gmail.com (or you can Facebook message it to either Renee Vivian or Jason Gagliardi)

Jason the tech guru will edit our voices together and we'll play the whole song during the Labor Day Weekend LARP-a-Thon!

Notes:

  • It's so important I'm going to repeat it ... please do not have the music playing without headphones.
If we can hear the music on your recording we will not be able to use it.

  • Please ONLY use the music link listed. Do not play along on the piano, guitar, ukulele, kazoo, etc. We need your beautiful voice, all by itself, in all its glory!

  • Only one voice at a time! Please do NOT harmonize with someone else in your house. We will not be able to use a multiple voice recording.

  • If you want the melody, that's the Soprano part.

  • We will announce when it will be played before we play it during Labor Day.

  • If it isn't obvious from your email, please include your name in the message to us.

Any questions? Renee or Jason are ready to help!
